About The Role

Join our amazing team at Old Registry Vets, Lincolnshire, as a Head Registered Veterinary Nurse!

We are hiring for a head nurse to join our phenomenal team in Scunthorpe. This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside a super supportive team of RVNs, and certificate holding vets, giving you a wide and varied caseload to keep you feeling satisfied every day.

At Old Registry we have some great equipment available, including brand new Dental X-ray, Ultrasound, and endoscope!

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintenance of RCVS Accredited Practice status.
  • Maintenance of RCVS training practice status.
  • Planning nurse and VCA rotas to maintain acceptable staffing levels within the clinic. To include authorising or declining annual leave requests as appropriate, and ensuring adequate bank holiday cover. Management of overtime requirements as necessary.
  • Supporting nursing and VCA staff with professional challenges.
  • Facebook compliance. Is our FB audience getting the cases they deserve from our clever cases? Encouragement and monitoring of teams to post.
  • Ensuring clinical staff are of appropriate personal appearance and behaviour as per the DNA handbook and the RCVS Professional Code of Conduct.
  • Maintaining clinical operations standards.
  • Maintenance of equipment and reporting of any issues to Hospital Manager. 
  • Supervision and training of clinical support staff and assessing student nurses. This may include training to become a clinical supervisor.
  • General management of clinical floor to ensure the day is running smoothly and to time.
  • Supervision of patient care to ensure this is at the highest level.
  • Management of stock levels within the clinics.
  • Delegation and supervision of duties given to an appropriate trained staff member as seen fit by Head Nurse (such as equipment checking and maintenance, management of stock levels).
  • Complete NPS reports and submit in a timely manner.
  • Perform regular quarterly reviews within the nursing team.
  • Clinical duties as required.
  • Regular communication with immediate line manager.

- Full time role - 4 - 5 days per week.

- 1:4 Weekend rota with participation in weekend rota

- Salary up to £36,000 DOE
